The Sound of Torah
The sound of Torah learning will be heard around the clock at Etz in the upcoming year thanks to an exciting partnership with the new Mesivta Keser Torah. The yeshiva high school will be opening its doors to its first students in Etz Chaim’s beautiful 9,000 foot facility this Elul. Famous for his dynamic and warm personality, the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Tzvi Mordechai Feldheim, has been a pillar of the Denver Yeshiva for decades, and is resettling in Baltimore to establish this new center of Torah learning.
The Etz Chaim staff will continue to maintain offices and programming space in the building, such as Rabbi Shlomo Porter’s Sunday morning class and our Wednesday night Partners in Torah program, however, most events will be conducted off-site. “Today’s young professionals prefer to gather in less formal atmospheres – such as restaurants, cafes, and parks – rather than synagogues and community centers,” Director, Rabbi Zev Pomeranz, said. In addition to producing revenue to support Etz Chaim’s programming, the yeshiva is part of our mission, to be a provider of Jewish education for the Baltimore community.
